The Lucky Onion is the inspiration behind our design-led hotel, restaurants and bars, owned and run by husband and wife duo, Julian and Jade Dunkerton. We represent a seasoned version of the countryside – pastoral but not provincial, and stylish without any snobbery. The Cotswolds is a place where the standards of the city meet the hospitality of the country. The Lucky Onion sits at its heart, a bolthole from daily life where urban sophistication meets Cotswolds culture.

We do simple things exactly the way you want them. It’s always with attention to detail: the most comfortable beds, the most invigorating showers, intuitive service, freshly-made food and thoughtful planning. We feel strongly about sourcing the best possible products that are impeccably designed, interesting and artisan.

Food is high on our agenda. Why? Because we love eating. But also, because we feel that some of life’s best memories are created over a table, sharing food with the people we care about most. With produce at the heart of what we do, we source the very best ingredients locally or from within the UK, and wherever possible from producers we know and trust.

The team behind The Lucky Onion have lived, worked, travelled and researched all over the world’s finest cities; the expertise gained here has been distilled into what we know today as The Lucky Onion, and we look to these places and establishments as our contemporaries. Wherever we open, we take our mindset with us. We really do live locally, but the world is our oyster.
