THE CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL AT THE LUCKY ONION
From delicious breakfasts and celebratory suppers to lashings of champagne, we’ve gone all-out at The Lucky Onion this Race Week.
We’ve got scrumptious food throughout the day, big screens to watch the races and live music every evening until late. Stay the night with us, too, in one of our lovely bedrooms, including the brand-new suites in King’s House, right in the heart of Cheltenham.
Bed down in the heart of the action at our beautiful Georgian townhouse No.131. We’ve got it all under one roof here. Our delicious, seasonal food is the perfect excuse to take a day off and grab a bite to eat whilst watching the action live on screen. Or analyse the day’s events on the outdoor terrace complete with our Guinness bar. Groups are sorted, too, with our private dining for up to 50 guests with a sumptuous feasting menu for Breakfast and Lunch. As day turns to night, Gin & the Juice is the place to party with delectable cocktails and a DJ playing into the early hours.
Quite simply the best racing pub in the Cotswolds, hotfoot it to the Hollow Bottom, where all the great names hang out during Race Week. Start the day with our scrumptious Full English before jumping aboard our bus to the races. Or take things easy and stay behind to watch the races on screen. Our big marquee at the back will play host to dinner each night so book a table, grab a pint and get stuck in. But, most importantly, don’t miss Gold Cup Night here, where we’ll be taking Race Week celebrations to another level.
For a little more peace and quiet, No.38, our closest property to the racecourse, is just the ticket. With beautiful bedrooms and lots of little luxuries, our stunning Georgian townhouse is a great place to hide away after a full-on day at the Races. Our new steak restaurant is a must-visit here, where, in true Lucky Onion style, we’ll be serving the best cuts in town. We’ll also be screening the first and last race of the day so need to worry about missing out on the action.
Good food and good times are the name of the game at local favourite The Tavern. Our big British breakfast is brilliant for setting you up for the day. Or want to escape the madness? Join us for lunch instead and watch the races live on our big screen. In the evening, we’ve got some of the best live music in town so come on by and join us for dinner before dancing the night away.
Escape the bustle of Cheltenham and head to our 17th-century coaching inn The Wheatsheaf. Nestled in the charming market town of Northleach, we’ve got buses to and from the races. Serving food throughout the day, tuck into excellent seasonal dishes, which showcase the very best of the British countryside. Come for lunch and watch the races on screen in a cosy corner. Or, after a busy day of betting and hoofing around the race course, wind down and join us for supper beside a roaring fire.
Drop by The Crown in Minchinhampton on your way back from Cheltenham to meet, eat and make great memories. Join us for a couple of drinks – we’ve got a cellar stocked full of craft ales, fine wines and fizz. Our locally-inspired food is top-notch, too, so enjoy a post-race supper of the likes of Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips and Beef and Mushroom pie, while soaking up our live music.
