Cheltenham Literature Festival
The only place for book lovers to be this autumn, the Cheltenham Literature Festival returns with a spectacular line-up of the world’s greatest writers, thinkers, performers and dynamic new voices. With something for everyone, enjoy over 160 events taking place in either Cheltenham Town Hall and the Everyman Theatre. Guest-curated by British-Turkish novelist Elif Shafak and Dishoom’s Shamil Thakrar, highlights include: tales of espionage from historian Ben Macintyre, Kate Williams on Cromwell’s Protectorate, an in-depth look at The Nuremberg Trials with William Shawcross and award-winning reporter Christina Lamb on Women in War.

The Showcase at the Cheltenham Racecourse
Kicking off the season in style, the thundering hooves will be returning this month to the Cheltenham Racecourse with 14 excellent races. Although, the racing will be taking place behind closed doors, you can stay involved with all the action from home with all the races live on screen. The October Handicap Steeple Chase is the one not to miss on the Friday then gear up for Saturday’s Matchbook Betting Exchange Handicap Steeple Chase. Giffords Circus The Feast at Everyman Theatre
Giffords Circus never fails to wow. Their brand-new show The Feast is no different. A fabulous all singing, all dancing circus show and dining extravaganza, sit under the big top at your dining table and tuck into a scrumptious three-course feast (choose between lunch, afternoon tea and supper) by inspired head chef Ols Halas, while you feast your eyes on the circus acts and performers. With a wonderful mix of dance, comedy, acrobatics, juggling, live music and animal acts, there will be many returning favourites including Tweedy the Clown, Lil Rice on the Cyr Wheel and the Circus band.
