Decadence abounds at Anoushka Hempel’s boutique hotel in Kensington. Lovingly converted from a set of Victorian townhouses, the vibe is a heady mix of glamour and exoticism. Polished mirrors bounce rich walnut tones around the maze-like corridors. Book the all-red Cardinal suite – a four-poster fantasy of botanical illustrations and antique fabrics. The restaurant is dark and sexy, with black walls and serves excellent Mediterranean fare. But really, when it comes to Valentine’s Day, it’s all about Blakes’ ‘Love Package’ and the question of: Naughty (Kiki de Montparnasse Intimacy Kit, Kama Sutra Book and Massage Oil) or Nice (Rose Petals, Amelia Rope Chocolate Hearts and Love Letters of Great Men).
